Artist #3: Alex Webb As I said before, I love photos with pastel and dark colors and photos with a good amount of contrast. Alex Webb definitely does that in his photos. Not only that, but I also like how much action and movement is going on in his photos. It makes me feel more interested and immersed in what is going on. I am thinking about using Alex Webb’s photos as inspiration for my mimc project because I want my photos to make people feel like that as well.
Mimic Photos Critique:
Final Photos: In this project, I decided to focus on 6 aspects of Webb's work; vivid colors, spontaneity, daily life, daylight, contrast, and realness. I decided to photograph these pictures on a bright, sunny day at Patriots Place, which is a mini outdoor mall in Gillette Stadium. Luckily, there were many people there because there was a soccer game going on. While there were a few bright colors in the structures (as seen in the 3rd and 4th photo), the majority of them were just blue and red because of the Patriot's colors, so I decided to find and focus on people who wore bright colors (as seen in the other 3 photos). Furthermore, I decided to not make people pose forme, but rather have them just keep doing what they're doing and pretend like I'm not there (if they I was to bring out the spontaneity and realness in my photos. Finally, I used photoshop to bring out the colors even more and to show contrast in my photos by using the lighting and contrast tools and the hues, saturation, luminance, and vibrancy tools.
